In the choice of comments no mention of staff, tut tut! So I will!! Due to restrictions my granddaughter and I had to... queue outside. A member of staff came out twice to apologise. Sitting down a waiter came more or less straight away, took our order, please note with a smile and a bit of friendly chat. Altogether, the service the food too a thoroughly enjoyable experience. My daughter was really nervous about eating out after so long at home but the staff were amazing and truly put her at... ease. As soon as we walked in was welcomed by a very lovley woman who was amazing with the customers , we sat out had a few... coffees , staff came out to us to take more drinks orders, check if we need anything, came to us so we could pay they are so attentive. Best coffee by far!!!! The man who owned it came to talk to us and what a lovley man he is. we will deffo be back for some food and more coffee. 😁read more

Easily my favourite place to brunch with my boys. They reopened today so of course we were straight down there. Fab... service as always, breakdown of the new system on arrival and track and trace procedure followed thoroughly. Food and service as always was beaut. Cannot recommend this place enough for brunch, eggs benny is beaut and my kids adore the pancakes. If you're into tea they have a great selection and can recommend something for you. We had a great lunch here today! I had the Welsh rarebit and mum the Waldorf salad both excellent. Very friendly &... great service, busy and vibrant atmosphere. All round exceptional experience highly recommend to my guests Norfolk House and the good folk of Huddersfield. Went for brunch with my husband and 18 month old. Asked if they could do scrambled eggs for my son and was told... without much consideration to the request that the eggs could only be poached. This is fair enough however I then ordered a veggie breakfast for me and my son to share. It was grim. It was drowning in some kind of water and all seemed piled onto each other and the potato was really undercooked. Poached egg was good but for £7 I would have expected a much better meal. Staff rude and unhelpful and managed to place a piping hot skillet in front of our son who obviously reached for it straight away. Won’t be recommending to others.read more

My friends/colleagues and I frequent NTH fairly regularly, as our preferred venue for both formal and informal... meetings. We’re always welcomed warmly, and the staff, particularly Emma and Kevin, go out of their way to ensure we’re accommodated. Between us we’d tried just about everything on the menu before it was revamped, and now we’re working our way through the new one! I highly recommend the frittata lunch, now served with two salad options from an impressive selection. I’d intended to treat myself to something sweet afterwards, but only had room for a coffee! NTH is a great example of a local indie business getting it right. Love it.read more

Where do I start, back in October I decided to hire the function room for a afternoon tea baby shower for a good... friend, I rang the tea room to see if the date was free where I was greeted with a very friendly member of staff who was very helpful and told me everything I needed to know, a few weeks later I called to hand the deposit s in and again the lady was very helpful and the place looked absolutely lovely from deco to the cakes. Yesterday was the baby shower I was a little nervous but once I arrived the owner and staff was amazing the room was warm and welcoming the food and service was fantastic, thank you to all involved for making Katies baby shower a day to remember I really am grateful xxxread more

Had lunch here on Friday,it was really lovely.The decor is great,with a very rustic feel.The staff are... lovely,particularly Blythe who is very welcoming& chatty-he's great. First time here yesterday, lovely place indeed. My daughter had a Nutella sandwich and crisps, with irangw juice from... the children's meals selection. I had a Falafel, couscous and hummus sandwich on Foccia bread. This came with posh crisps and salad, which had a gorgeous fruity salad dressing on it. Have called in here twice now, for tea and a sandwich or scone. The food and beverages are wonderful. Speciality... teas, for example, which are almost a work of art, and caring staff suggest how long you should leave them to brew for best enjoyment. Been here 3 times now. Twice for afternoon tea, once for lunch (veg platter). Presentation is spot on. Each time was... better than the next. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Couldn't have the meat sandwiches so they happily made changes. The thing that always impresses me is the quality of the tea, loose tea leaves. Amazing flavour! Happily brought both my kids, there was something on the menu for my 6 year old that she could happily eat. Baby also seemed to enjoy looking around. Atmosphere in this place is awesome. So today I stumbled across an outstanding new little find in Huddersfield. The Northern Tea House offered a great... selection of food and drinks with a wonderful atmosphere.
