Beautiful afternoon tea; one of the best I’ve had. The mini savoury tarts, huge blueberry scones, exquisitely light... mini cheesecakes and passion fruit tarts merit particular praise. The staff were extremely kind in seating us away from the main part of the cafe as we are clinically vulnerable and still shielding from covid. They checked that their social distance was acceptable to us and wore masks every time they came to the table. Thank you so much, Kevin and team; we will return.read more

Visited the Northern Tea House whilst coming to see my daughter at Uni . Fabulous lunch ! I had the eggs Benedict with... avocado which was amazing with perfect poached eggs . Next time I’ll be having smashed avocado on sourdough because my daughter opted for this and it looked sensational and apparently tasted even better ! Fresh juices were lovely , the coffee was gorgeous and top this off with fantastic service and you’re into a winner ! What an absolute gem this is. We're both tea drinkers and spotted this on trip advisor. I actually had hot chocolate... which was lovely and not sickly or too sweet. My husband had the blooming tea, I can highly recommend it, it really was beautiful. The cakes were delicious but the service was exceptional, thank you.read more

I’m not from the area so have struggled to find somewhere that did both a nice breakfast and a proper coffee. Had my... first ever child free morning and this place came recommended. THE best eggs benedict I have ever eaten - and I’ve had a fair few. I’m also a bit of a coffee snob and it beats other local independents without trying. In the choice of comments no mention of staff, tut tut! So I will!! Due to restrictions my granddaughter and I had to... queue outside. A member of staff came out twice to apologise. Sitting down a waiter came more or less straight away, took our order, please note with a smile and a bit of friendly chat. Altogether, the service the food too a thoroughly enjoyable experience. As soon as we walked in was welcomed by a very lovley woman who was amazing with the customers , we sat out had a few... coffees , staff came out to us to take more drinks orders, check if we need anything, came to us so we could pay they are so attentive. Best coffee by far!!!! The man who owned it came to talk to us and what a lovley man he is. we will deffo be back for some food and more coffee. 😁read more

Fab... service as always, breakdown of the new system on arrival and track and trace procedure followed thoroughly. Food and service as always was beaut. We had a great lunch here today! I had the Welsh rarebit and mum the Waldorf salad both excellent. Very friendly &... great service, busy and vibrant atmosphere. All round exceptional experience highly recommend to my guests Norfolk House and the good folk of Huddersfield. My friends/colleagues and I frequent NTH fairly regularly, as our preferred venue for both formal and informal... meetings. We’re always welcomed warmly, and the staff, particularly Emma and Kevin, go out of their way to ensure we’re accommodated. Between us we’d tried just about everything on the menu before it was revamped, and now we’re working our way through the new one! I highly recommend the frittata lunch, now served with two salad options from an impressive selection. I’d intended to treat myself to something sweet afterwards, but only had room for a coffee! NTH is a great example of a local indie business getting it right. Love it.read more

Had lunch here on Friday,it was really lovely.The decor is great,with a very rustic feel.The staff are... lovely,particularly Blythe who is very welcoming& chatty-he's great. First time at this tea house. Beautiful decor- vintage mixed with French chic and industrial charm with the exposed... ceiling work. Great array of teas and good selection of food too. First time here yesterday, lovely place indeed. My daughter had a Nutella sandwich and crisps, with irangw juice from... the children's meals selection. I had a Falafel, couscous and hummus sandwich on Foccia bread. This came with posh crisps and salad, which had a gorgeous fruity salad dressing on it. There was a lovely selection of cakes, scones and brownies which we didn't sample this time! We will be back!read more

Speciality... teas, for example, which are almost a work of art, and caring staff suggest how long you should leave them to brew for best enjoyment. So today I stumbled across an outstanding new little find in Huddersfield. The Northern Tea House offered a great... selection of food and drinks with a wonderful atmosphere.
